Wendla Garden

The Wendla Garden displays old plant populations from the Jokioinen Estate, and national plant genetic resources.

Ferraria Slope

Ferraria Slope in Jokioinen is a park that showcases the diversity and cultivation history of Finnish fruit and berry plants.

Arboretum Apukka

The Arboretum Apukka, a botanical garden is located in Rovaniemi, approximately seven kilometres to the north of the Arctic Circle.

Arboretum Yltöinen

Arboretum Yltöinen is a research facility and gene bank for Finnish and foreign species of trees and bushes.

Solböle research forest

Research in Solböle focuses on the cultivation and genetic diversity of broad-leaved deciduous trees, exotic coniferous trees, mushroom and berry harvests, and the seed yields of spruce, birch and pine.

Ruotsinkylä research forest

The 2-km ‘Raitio Trail’ for forest education provides a diverse introduction to the sustainable use and management of forests and forest nature.

Punkaharju research forest

The arboretum features more than 100 tree species, subspecies of certain species, hybrids of species and several special forms of domestic forest trees.

Kannus research forest

Visitors are welcome to familiarise themselves with the trial activities on the Mannila research trail and observation sites for energy wood harvesting.

Kukkola arboretum – Antti’s arboretum

This arboretum specialises in variants or special forms of tree species indigenous to Finland.

Metla House

When completed in 2004, The robust wooden Metla House was Finland’s first large three-storey office building to be built from wood and to have a wooden frame.
