Get familiar with domestic farm animals and agricultural development at Elonkierto
Elonkierto is a rural and domestic animal exhibition park established by MTT Agrifood Research Finland. The park is located in Jokioinen, a drive of about an hour and a half from Helsinki. Elonkierto will show you how man and nature work together.
As you make your way through the park you will see how research into agriculture is conducted and how that research is put into practice. Elonkierto is a peaceful tourist spot lying deep in the ancient rural landscape of Häme.
The park is open from the beginning of June until mid-September.
Elonkierto is for the whole family
For the family visiting Elonkierto there is plenty to see and do. Cows, horses and sheep graze in the park from the beginning of June until mid-September. The walk will take you close to the rare “kyyttö” cows and calves of Eastern Finland. Cultivated land and tourist map guides lead you to the world of the field, where crops, herbs and meadow flowers are all in bloom. The environmental impact of cultivation and climate change are also in evidence.
