Segezha Group acquired Finnish sawmill in Kostamuksha

The Segezha Group has acquired Karelian Wood Company, a sawmill owned by Pin Arctic Oy in Kostomuksha in the Republic of Karelia. Far Eastern industry requests reduction of wood export duties

The forest industry in the Far East is in deep crisis and major companies are going bankrupt or close to it, says regional forest industry association Dalexportles in a petition to the president’s administration. VR Group started wood import traffic from Russia

In the spring, VR Group announced that it seeks new growth by establishing a subsidiary to purchase and operate wagons in Russia. The start-up of the company has progressed rapidly. New owners for Karellesprom – the largest logging company in Karelia

Segezha Group and Karelia Pulp have acquired the previously state-owned logging company Karellesprom. Karellesprom has been so far the largest independent harvesting company in Karelia, with annual allowable cut of 1.2 million cubic meters and actual felling of approximately 0.8 million cubic meters. Raute delivers plywood mill for Segezha Group

Segezha Group has ordered from Raute Corporation machinery and equipment for a greenfield plywood mill to be set up in Galich, Kostroma region. The order is worth 58 million euros. Sveza Group starts own wood harvesting in Vologda region

Sveza Group has established a wood procurement company Sveza Resource LLC in the Vologda region. The initial capital is RUB 400 million (approximately EUR 5.7 million *).
