Plant-mycorrhizal feedbacks of nitrogen deposition to peatland carbon and nutrient cycling. Academy Research Fellow follow-on funding for research costs

Nitropeat II

Our aim is to examine how atmospheric nitrogen deposition alters
plant nutrient uptake and feeds back on carbon sink capacity in peatland ecosystems.

Knowledge on the responses of peatland
ecosystems to nitrogen deposition is essential for establishing critical loads for maintaining these long-term sinks of carbon as well as
predicting more reliably changes in carbon store and greenhouse gas emissions in a changing climate.
