Sustainable bioeconomy on reindeer pastures

The aim of the project is to produce analysis- and synthesis based knowledge as well as developmental suggestions on the subjects how the semi-domesticated reindeer husbandry and the land use in the reindeer herding area could be advanced and conducted ecologically, economically and socially more sustainable.

Different alternative scenarios for the potential development trends of the reindeer husbandry in different areas are produced. It is also clarified simultaneously how and to what directions different mechanisms, factors and measures direct the reindeer husbandry and also the state of pastures in different areas. Finally such procedure suggestions are gathered by which the reindeer husbandry could bed developed ecologically, productionally, economically and socially more sustainable.
