Spruce somatic embryogenesis

Vegetative propagation provides means for production of forest regeneration material originating in selected trees, having e.g. superior growth or suitable traits for special end-uses. A vegetative propagation method based on somatic embryogenesis (SE) has been developed for Norway spruce, and is functional in laboratory scale. This projects focuses on enabling the further applications of spruce SE by producing and testing SE-lines for commercial pilot propagations.
