Salmon and trout in the Baltic Sea

Itäm. lohi ja merit. Tornionj

The project provides advice and candidate solutions for the management of the Baltic salmon and sea trout stocks. This is achieved by processing stock monitoring data for the needs of both international (e.g. ICES, Finnish-Swedish transboundary river agreement) and national (e.g. Finnish salmon and sea trout strategy) management. The project delivers salmon and trout stock assessment results (estimates of fish abundance at different life stages, survival, fisheries related statistics, age structure of stock and catch etc.) and information about fish migrations in time and space. Research material is also compiled, to be used in other related research projects. The project produces various publications, press releases and presentations, updates web pages etc.
