HopUp - Starting the production of Finnish hop

HopUp

Natural Resources Institute Finland have studied almost 1000 Finnish hops to find hops, that are genetically different and promising to beer production by cone chemistry. The most interesting hops by the cultural background data, analysis information and chemical quality, were selected. In this project 21 hop accessions have set to field trials in geographically different locations in Finland. Gained accession characteristics data will be used in choosing some of the accessions to the nursery production and finally to get them to be utilized in beer production.

The project produces information of hop production in Finland, and strengthens the collaboration between research institute, horticultural schools, farmers, microbreweries and entrepreneurs.
