Genomic Selection: Towards more Efficient, Financially Viable and Resilient Wood Production

Genowood

Our proposal facilitates future bioeconomy by new methods for conifer breeding to (i) increase forest productivity without costs in carbon balance, (ii) produce tailored wood with respect to its physical and chemical properties, (iii) minimize damages due to pests and pathogens by producing resilient trees, and (iv) assess financial effects of enhanced tree growth and resilience resulting from present and future breeding.

International scientific publication, results will be utilized directly in the national tree breeding programme run by Luke.
